To See Him Again

It was good to see him again.
It had been way too long.
six months? seven?
it was seven.
it's funny, i've known him for seven years,
and i hadn't seen him in seven months.
We've gone longer without seeing each other
but this seven months seemed so long.
It's funny, how everything comes around full circle like that.
Seven years i've known him, seven months without seeing him.
actually things always seem to come full circle when it comes to us.
We started our... what to call it....
not relationship... affair. that sounds about right.
we started our affair about 4 years ago...
right after he had gotten out of a relationship,
it went on for a few months, and then stopped,
and picked up again whenever we were both single and would spend time together.
on and off between relationships for four years.
kind of like our friendship.
this roller coaster of spending all our time together
then not seeing each other for a few months,
then spending our time together again
but we always pick up where we left off.
and then seven or eight months ago,
when i had just gotten out of a relationship,
we start hanging out again,
and re-strike up our affair.
full circle, always.
I saw him last weekend,
he said we were going to get married.
I think he's right.
