She couldn't see
While running away
In the dark
Blinded, not by fury
But by the terror that could
And perhaps would
Swallow her whole
She pleaded with Nyx
"Oh please, let me live"
Nyx would take no mercy on those
Who betray her
To run off with Hemera
Her one daughter
That always loved, unlike Nyx herself
To plead does nothing
Nyx spat
She kept running
Not knowing where the trail would lead
Yet worried to the gut
She stopped next to a tree
To reveal the contents that were once in her stomach
To weak to go on
She fell asleep
Waking up the next day
To the darkness of Nyx
She called out for mercy
But only heard cruel laughter
The laughter rung in her ears
Until the darkness spoke
And said
"To late, my darling traitor.
You've crossed River Styx
And it is too late to go back"
She realized that it was not Nyx
But Hades
Nyx had already gotten to her
And with nothing to do
For the rest of eternity
She sat on her bottom
And cried
