Cherokee Heart

Upon his wrists new ink
forms a band of letters
written in Cherokee.
One wrist for each sister
honoring them and his love
for his heritage.

This Man child carries
a name that speaks Irish,
but inside, the blood flows
to the rivers and deep woods
of the Cherokee nation.

His essence cries freedom.
His face, smooth and yet unlined,
seeks out to wander untethered,
waiting for his own adventures
to find their place
in his heart.

    Hoodwinked!

This is a lovely descriptive character sketch. I like how you start from his outer appearance then talk about his person then reflect the depths of his heart, a nice progression indeed. You are a talented painter of word pictures, well done dear poet!

You have been Hoodwinked by the Poetic Bandits today because WE CARE!

Wow, I love it. Short, sweet, and to the point. I love how clear it is; you've said so much in such a few words. Bravo! I like the background you choose to go with it as well. It's very peaceful, and very calming.

    Keep up the fantastic work!
