and gotten jumped by a gang?
have you ever been sitting in a parking lot
and seen a kid you knew get stabbed?

have you ever watched your boyfriend
pull a knife on his brother?
have you ever reached around his waist
and felt the cold of his gun?

have you ever been sitting in class
and heard sirens and helicopters?
have you ever been holed up in the classroom
because there was a hostage situation on campus?
