The waves continue to crash
Your body close to mine
sends me through a heat flash
our bodies have crossed the invisible line
it's too late to decline.
This dance we've started,
shall never end.
Your eyes are reaching down into my heart,
turning this dance into a dramatic art.
My heartbeats have become erratic,
The beach is twirling below me,
you are our dance's emcee.
You are leader,
a mind reader.
I am in the air now,
your arms around my waist.
This time is too precious to waste.
These stolen moments will never be replaced.
Some may say these movements are unchaste.
They say I am disgraced.
For dancing in this way.
But it is not as they say.
We are not abusing our morality.
We are just dancing at our very own musical soiree.
There are no words left to say.
The dawn is here.
The sun has come to chase your dreams away.
My white hand grabs his tan.
We know our love,
does not fit the American plan,
my parents have made.
I will be forced to leave him behind,
but I will always remember our nightly dances,
in Barcelona, Spain.
Author notes
"And when I see you, I will remember what we had, and cherish what we lost." was the prompt i decided to use.
