my fingers smell like pennies
eroded away
by the dusty air,
dropped upon with circling pollution
changing the color
of our breath.

I agree, this is an amazing write and well deserving of silver..I like the title ..it definately makes me think of pollution and the smell of old pennies does too,
in 22 words, you pack such a feeling of urgency in the way we need to clean up our polluted planet - excellent work
