Where were you
In all these bygone days?
I was not aware of your
Present address
I asked the plants,
whom you nourished earlier
now rose as trees.
No reply still forth coming.
I asked the flowering creepers
Who, by now, became my garden roofers
They also surprisingly embraced stoical silence
With out any vocal resonance
Unable to find you anywhere nearby
I made umpteen strolls on the roads and parks
They smiled and sometimes laughed at me
Invariably finding me in quite innocence
and may be in ignorance too
Where were you
In all these bygone days?
I was not aware of your
Present address or your where abouts
Valentine's day is fast approaching
I can't continue to go on searching
My dear ! I am sure your sweet lips
return to me on date to wet their hopes and desires
