There is nothing more fleeting than trust,
you open your heart, they react in disgust.
They interrogate, but they're not ready to hear,
today's prejudice, tommorow's fear.
I sit alone, and stare into shame,
there's a stranger in the mirror, with my name.
Decisions, decisions,
they all make tiny incisions,
I fall back and reflect on the carnal,
should I open my heart and risk the fall?

wow i really like this. it is a hard thing for the youth to open their hearts and trust. they have so many emotions but sadly enough a lot of them keep them bottled up. this is a very nice take on the prompt. thanks for entering and good luck. be well and be blessed
