Princess of Daventry

Rosetta..

The young princess of the Kingdom of Daventry.
Known for its gardens of green poisonous apples..
Dark forests, plain fields and absinthe-coloured mists.

A land of caves and high mountains, rich with emeralds.
Rich with mythical creatures: faeries, pixies and druids.
In hollow mounds and the mountain of the fairy-calf..

Where the Fairy Queen Oona lives.. from the race of..
The Tuatha Dé Danann. Fairest of them all, a shapeshifter.
Such a place is the infamous Emerald Isle..

Emerald jewellery Rosetta wears, a crown on her head.
Her long golden locks covering her back.. playfully she runs..
Through the dark woods out to plain fields until she reaches...

The apple gardens.. For a moment she stands, eyeing the mysterious,
Green fruits fallen down from some trees, fresh and new in grass.
Little naive Rosetta takes one bite.. falling into eternal sleep.

Just like Snow White of Germania she seems alive, breathing calmly.
Yet her mind is dead, her youth forever vanished, her memories forgotten.
The faeries steal her corpse. And the green fruit that turned into emerald..

Author notes

Inspired by one of my favourite old-school PC games of my childhood - King's Quest. The game is about a royal family of the Kingdom of Daventry, much like old Albion/Britain for its Emerald Isles.
The name of the Princess is Rosella.. but since I like the variant of Rosetta more I decided to use that name instead because it's similar.
