The sun was high
beating down on the earth
It's rays were harsh, heating the ground
The wind was adamant
blowing dust and sand
Making it impossible to be seen, to be found
Alone and weak
he walked ever so slowly
Moving as fast as his body allowed
Sweating and limping
he cried as he moved
advancing through the expanding dust cloud
His limbs were fragile
and hence he collapsed
The exhaustion and pain had set in
The wind blew louder
and the sun shone brighter
and sand clung tight to his skin
"Please God, give me strength"
he pleaded and cried
knowing he couldn't go on alone
"I need You to guide me,
and stand here beside me"
he cried, feeling the tingling in his bones
He rose to his feet
but again fell down
doubting God's powerful hand
He closed his eyes
and rose once again
and began to walk across the sand
Trusting his Father
to lead the way
he walked on with his head held high
Knowing that he was safe
and in loving hands
The Lord had heard his cry

Through struggle and weakness, one finds his faith sorely tested. Only to be rewarded with the truth that he is on the right path. Wonderfully written, thanks for entering into the contest.
Be well and be blessed.
