The sun comes up to greet me,
as I say good-bye to the moon.
Another sleepless night is over,
and the day will not pass too soon.
Rays of emotion pour into my mind,
with each strand of time that passes.
layers are peeling away revealing
my true indifference to the masses.
Whispers seem much louder,
when there is no light left to hear.
There is a magnificant light reflecting,
on my shadow in the mirror.
Tepid embers of past enchanted flames,
freeze quiet memories of loud visions into my soul.
Memories forever cleave to me,
just as a fighter pilot his control.
When my eyes finally close I see a light,
it inspires me to dream.
For dreaming is the only sanctuary ,
in which no soul hears my sceams.

well done with the prompt..
'magnificent'
It is also a magnificent poem that you hae written here. It has a flowing , almost musical sound when read aloud.
I see similes, metaphors, personification all leading up to a grand finale theme...and a wonderful classical line, "no soul hears my screams." Brrr...that chills me. Very effective feelinmgs and imagery.
