Head Down

Head down I walk in your shadows,
Walking threw empty meadows,
Once beautifully painted with flowery scenes,
Are now betrayed by barren waste lands.

Head hung down my tears are shed,
You make me weep into the deep,
Where I’ve found darkness and where
Love is forbidden.

Head low my blood needs to flow,
I can’t walk straight my feet take me to the outside,
Where my heart screams.

Head down in your tears I’ve swam
And in your fears I have sailed.

Head down there is no other choice,
I can’t look you in the eyes because I have no voice,
Words are lost and painted into the pretend canvas I call a face.

Head held low because if up I must look at you,
I’ll feel your scold and your shame because after all I’m no one I have no name.

Please tell me what you think
