The Fragile Blue

She's fading...

Just a memory of the one they used to know.

Her friends act like strangers,
Or is she the stranger?
She hides her face in shame,
Hides her tears, as they flow freely...obscured only by her imposter's smile.

The perfect actress, with a pseudo personality.

Walking down the hall,
She studies her peers,
Looks into their eyes,
And wonders...How many play a part?
In this production, without an audience.

She pretends...and sketches her counterfeit world:

The make-up runs, mixed with tears, and drips onto her page, coloring her hand-drawn picture...a drawing of - herself:

In her picture, she's beautiful
In her picture, she can fly away
In her picture, she has no face...no eyes, no tears.

If it's not her heart that's bleeding, what is it?
They all tell her it could be worse, but it isn't.

She'll smile, she'll act, until her curtain falls

And then she'll take a bow, to the silence of applause
.
.
.
A single tear, is fianally shown.
The truest hue, the fragile blue.

Such saddness and loneliness... Those were the ruling emotions in this piece and you brought them out so very well. It's difficult to want to be something else to belong somewhere, and in the end it will just hurt you more. I love the lines where you described the picture she was drawing of herself without eyes or tears... That was simply beautiful to my mind, and told so well of the feelings inside her. This is a sad yet marvelous story that a lot of people can relate to, I'm sure.

    Wonderful work with this one!
