Fool That I Am

I love you like you always said I would.
I know I can’t stop--that I wouldn’t if I could.
While you are traveling the country,
I wonder, do you even remember me?
Do you care for me at all?
My name can you recall?
You’re out running around.
I still love you just like the fool that I am.

Please tell me what you think

It happens. This is a sad piece, and I am so glad it does not pertain to you, but so many have been here. Always such emotion in your writes. ~Pamela

Pam thanks so much for your kind comment on Next to Me. I do try to put emotion in my poems by making believe that they are about me even whey they aren't about my real-life.
      Thanks again!

You fooled me, then I read some of your replies to other comments and see that this is just a writers imagination. I wonder if you do have a name there tucked away in your heart from long ago, I know I have.
Niaish my friend for sharing this with us all. Sheila

Honestly--I am a lucky man. My wife and I have been married a little over 37 years and are still very happy with one another. We have always been best friends as well as lovers. Thanks so much for the wonderful comment.

    Beautifully written

Dear Damon, It's funny how some names of past loves stay in our memory and others that we thought we loved totally slip from our minds. It just goes to show it wasn't true love at all. A great write my friend. I see it was written the day after I flew to New Zealand so that's how I missed it.
    Love always
    Joan

Never stop being a fool ...

for fools who know they are fools, are often kindred spirits on the face of this earth ...

And of course: true love is never-ending and do not ask for returns.

It was good to read your words. Somewhere a soul rushes around without knowing your unconditional love ... or so you may think.

    Blessed be,
    Myra
