Granule Moment

I want to tread on home
Slump my feet through tall grass
And stretch out on the sofa raising my hands above my eyes

You should pull my hands away
And say you will not let go until I get up for today
Slap me out of my imaginative retreat

So I can become the beautiful person
And gravitate towards sunlight like blades of grass

Lay down and leave a print in the sand
I will lay in it and see how much bigger you are than I
And I will catch little granules of sand between the sky and earth

And blow them towards no time at all
Because you are sitting bouncing a ball inside the school gym
Now you are tossing a pen up in an office chair and I am sitting on a bench waiting for a bus

Let me distract you and hush out the neon signs of California hotels
Leap through space from bed to bed
Just to finally rest on a top of the rumbling dryer that takes everything
I do not want to feel and wrings out all the tears on high heat.

Shaking me, just so I can sleep.
