I look with envy to the stars my angel
Though, the light from your eyes is far brighter
Perhaps it was from the sky that you fell
Yet, I know none whose heart is lighter
Oh my angel with shining wings and halo
Why do you stay by my side?
Why is it that you do not go back to heaven where you should abide
Sing to me my angel pure
With your voice as clear as bells
Tell me why you do endure
This world so close to hell
Do not stay for me, my angel, my darling
You belong in the skies
A place where your heart can sing
In aa place where there are no lies
Why, angel of mine, is it you love me
For I am undeserving of one such as you
Your heart must be as vast as the sea
Full of the the love I wish that all hearts knew
