Satin Clay

I need anything

instant.

No time
for even
impatience.

Got my fingers
curled around you,
got my eyes
burning skin.

Wasted moments-
"could have been."

Regret every intake
of ugly air,
measure life
in each mouthful;
shallow lungs
for the deep
(thump, thump)
of your
heartbeat.

No more seconds to kill.
I spend all my time
forgetting.

Pockets lined with pennies;
paper out the window.

Every chance
I get to see you,
infatuation
draws within itself
and triples.

Lip-less thoughts,
I've lost my voice
in a sea
of horrible noise.

Author notes

Bloodstained sheets,
in the shape
of your heart.

Please tell me what you think
