Otter Creek

Missing image

Otter Creek is a special place

where I always enjoy going

A treasured memory of my past

a beautiful place in showing

The water is crystal clear

stones and fish all shimmer below

The water trickles down it's path

you can hear it speak as it flows

My birthplace was near the creek

above the bank and on a hill

But the memories I have of this place

are in my mind and heart still

    Beautiful

I know why you love it. That part of Kentucky is beautiful. especially when the Red Buds are in bloom. My brother and sister in law live at Lebanon Junction. I was just down there for my brother's funeral.

    Great imagery!

I enjoyed the sensory detail you put into the description of Otter Creek. Your fond feelings for a special childhood place come through nicely.

How special. The picture is beautiful too...I can see why it holds a certain nostalgia for your. Your poem is very honest. I can feel your emotion in your words. You describe it so well that I could close my eyes and picture it. A worthy piece for my contest...thanks for entering and good luck!!
