Our paths converged
one rainy day, books flying,
ass over teacups.
Liz, meet Deb,
another teacher in training,
my brother smiled.
She dated us both,
separately and together,
the third Musketeer;
destiny’s miracle.
She held my hair as I worshiped
the porcelain goddess.
I held her sorrow
as we bid goodbye to Rags.
We had play dates:
tennis, cards, and movies;
they had love dates.
We shared brownies, books and heartaches;
they agreed to share their lives.
It seemed as natural as breathing;
my best friend became my sister.
Author notes
with love to Rob, Deb and Serena
I combined options 5 and 6. I love her, and I can call her anytime, day or night.
