An unlikely pig,
yet muses upon dreams
that fail within the mists,
with an honesty
of soulful brutality,
yet somehow dishonest of moments.
The brotherhood of men
that used to care,
now twisted in disrepair
yet bathed in light,
the muck has fallen away.
Yet still I resolve,
I am an unlikely pig
this very day.
Author notes
Year of the pig, 1971
I believe other than the contest holder and I,
that sharing this distinction with us is also Ernest Hemingway... Though the poem I wrote is a fictional representation, of a contradictory nature. I do resemble some of the qualities of the Pig.
