love of my life
tonight time will turn
selling us its silliness
moments matter not minutes
I pray for the privacy
of making musical moments
playing monopoly madness
sneakily snuggled so close
alive in awareness
basking in the blossoming beauty of
healing the haunting history
when awoken with you
I wake up warm
into vaulted vitality
my mind must
experience every eyeful
of your savory smiles
curving to cover me in connectedness
watching wickedness wither
we talk it through tonight
we walk together with tenderness
making moments matter most
Author notes
This was inspired both by the quote of the contest that I am writing this for as well as the promise of playing monopoly with my fiance. There are times when we could be doing next to nothing and that moment feels so alive.

These moments are so sweet and should be treasured. I loved the second stanza the most, it just sounded abstract and yet, easy to understand, because I think of those past moments when seconds like that were shared.

This made me smile. But then since the love of your life is my son...of course it makes me smile!
I really like these lines:
"moments matter not minutes"
Those moments are precious and not to be measured in time.
"blossoming beauty of
healing the haunting horrors"
There is a beauty in the healing of horrors.
"watching wickedness wither
we talk it through tonight"
The thought of wickedness withering...what an image! I love it. And talking things through can be such an important part of that happening.
I wish you well in the contest.
