Cry For Me
I wish I could have stopped it,
I wish I could have seen through you,
Seen through your lies
Your cheats
Your money hungry mind.
Now all that remains
Are memories
Burning, burning.
Memories,
Fading, fading,
Away.
You don't understand
You always had it all
You never knew
What it meant
To cry.
Now I lay here,
Crying,
Now I lay here,
Dying,
And I want to know,
One last thing:
Did you ever,
Will you ever,
Cry for me?
Author notes
Written from the point of a horse shipped to slaughter. Thoughts toward the horse's former owner.

This is so sad! Filled with pain and I could just see the horse sitting there and not understanding why this is happening.
Tears come with your last lines:
"And I want to know,
One last thing:
Did you ever,
Will you ever,
Cry for me?"
Looking forward to reading more from you!
