My grey stone wall has been polished slick smooth
Until cracks don’t show and the surface shines
Its opaque face reflects the child you want to see
I peer through chinks only known from behind
You see me as callous, say that I hurt
But over my wall your own arrows fly
Just because you can’t see my blood or my tears
Doesn’t make me unharmed or my eyes dry
In distress I’m reticent…you call it mute
But my silence does not mean I don’t care
The apathy you so hate is my shield from your world
My wall built of fear and a blank-eyed stare
to be contd
Until cracks don’t show and the surface shines
Its opaque face reflects the child you want to see
I peer through chinks only known from behind
You see me as callous, say that I hurt
But over my wall your own arrows fly
Just because you can’t see my blood or my tears
Doesn’t make me unharmed or my eyes dry
In distress I’m reticent…you call it mute
But my silence does not mean I don’t care
The apathy you so hate is my shield from your world
My wall built of fear and a blank-eyed stare
to be contd

To my mother
This is about our ongoing "misunderstanding". I'm working on two more stanzas but am having trouble finishing...the poem AND the misunderstanding.

I really do understand this, more than most people realise, because people take me as someone who just uses men, who only tries to be a do gooder. But that's not who I am. I can be malicious to people too and not care, I don't use men they use me and I get back at them, I like how you are telling the whole world that what they see is crap, it's not the real you and they know nothing. They don't know what happens in your heawrt and behind closed doors.

Despite the fact it's unfinished I thought that this really deserved the trophy. This is obviously a very heartfelt peice and something that is close to you. Good flow and strong wording. I hope you solve the problem soon xXx
