I thought I’d send each of you
a happy birthday card to say
how great it is to sing and laugh
in celebration of your birthday
But Ephiphany got romantic
it being the month of valentines
she decided to sing a love song
and messed up the happy birthday lines
With partying on her mind
the thought of a guy made her swoon
she tripped and fell in love
with the old man in the moon
Then a pretty countrybabe came by
all spruced up and enchanting
carrying a frilly birthday cake
so big it left her panting
The candles, too many to count
it didn’t matter anyway
just blow ’em out she said
there’s enough for each birthday
But as the embers slowly faded
stardust had one more to go
she huffed and puffed and blew
as hard as she could blow
Then my happy birthday card
so painstakingly selected
was caught by that one
burning flame, totally unexpected
So I guess you’re all left with
just the one thing you can do
join in the song and laughter
as we say Happy Birthday to

Plastic pink flamingoes are sort of popular in Maine, at least as a kitschy joke. We're an odd bunch. We also liked those bend-over-Bettys, you know, those wood cut-outs of ladies bent over weeding or whatever and showing their wide backsides, lol.
