In a land seen by all
The ground is dry
A single tree stands tall
Waiting for heaven to cry
In the light and dark
The winds blow hard
Savagely stripping its bark
And scouring its yard
The tree sends roots deep
Searching miles of ground
Wanting water it cannot keep
It hunts without a sound
What little fruit it does bare
With six beautiful doves
I must share
For they are all that have shown it love
My branches are ever so sore
But still I work on
Needing to complete my chore
Wanting only a lush green lawn
Please tell me what you think
