Wrapped in Face Paint

I’m wrapped in face paint,
Golden blue streaks my face,
What happened to this place?
I think when I tried to run I tripped,
I think I fell up the stairs
The paint I’ve smeared on does nothing,
It’s still the same old me underneath
The realization hits me as I wearily sit,
Lower my quivering lids,
Try to prevent the tear from squeezing out
I pout my lips,
And spread more paint with my fingertips
The energy’s left me now,
And I’m left here,
Cold, blue, and broken,
Wrapped in face paint

    Interesting take on the prompt.
I like where you too it.
The flow of the piece it's self is off though, taking away from the power of your words. It's a great concept though.
    Good luck!
