Black and mauve starts my painting,
Foreign foods satisfies my craving,
And these tattered boots still keep me going.
Alaska has my heart in anticipation,
with dreams of capturing the beauty in photographs.
Reminiscing about life and the heartbreak that gave way to my poetic side,
and admiring Robert Frost and his inspiration.
Writing what comes to mind- whenever it comes.
Shipwrecked, metaphorically, trying to search for shelter and food.
If only I had the power to save this world from evil and hunger,
we all could live safe and happy where we pleased.
My sanctuary lies within Scotland’s hills,
galloping on around the plains and ancient castles.
How peaceful it’d be growing new life from my garden.
Lilies, roses, violets, and vegetables, adding morning glories and wildflowers spread sporadically.
I’d wade in the clear, crisp blue ocean to drench the heat and dirt.
Calmly playing games as my pastime,
Star Wars and RPGs catch my fancy more.
My other fancy-my fedora,
my favorite hat.
My mind and way of thinking is the strongest attribute I claim,
and I wouldn’t change much at all
for any change would just be false
and false is something that is not me.

Thank you for this entry, a privileged look into the heart of a poet. I love most the black and mauve, the garden and the fedora. Well done!
