The melody.... lingers in the air
As I watch the sunlight on your hair
As softly .....in the summer breeze
I touch your arm and gently squeeze
The notes are flowing like a stream
Reminding me where we have been
Exquisite sounds that fill my ears
With soothing music from the years
And now our lips like gentle snow
Melt into one… so soft and slow
And passion's deep but subtle glow
Makes time just drift and softly flow
And so we walk amongst the trees
A night appears as daytime flees
The warmth of summer still around
To match the beauty of night's sounds
And hand in hand we see the moon
And now that soon .. so very soon
The night will swallow us inside
As one we watch our own life's tide

I agree with the comment below; a very beautiful write. Short, but very powerful. Love is a wonderful feeling and you sure expressed it well.
The image to this fits so nicely, and you made it come to life even more so.

Very beautiful. Is this a lyric? It would work. In fact, I'm reluctant to critique on a poetic basis if it is a song.
Otherwise, it's still a nice poem. However, I'm not sure what inspired this. Could you please review the criteria and make the needed changes or at least tell the readers which choice you made for the contest?
