The Street Boy

Little star I can see you
Between the building tops
Twinkling joyfully
High above in the night sky
My one and only roof
I know you can see me
Won't you just wave at me?
Will you be my best friend?
Can I share my tales with you?
The story of my humble life
Adorned with tears like pearls?
Will you listen to the song?
From my woeful soul
I have no home,no place to run to
No father to scold me,
No mother to cuddle me,
No sister to play games with,
No brother to stand for me
All I have I know is just me myself
I'm the lonely street boy whom no one cares about
My parents are the road on which I lay my head
My siblings are mere shadows who disappear by dusk
Can you tell me a story before I fall asleep?
Can you answer the million questions that I want to ask?
Will you be my best friend? My sole companion throughout this life?

Please tell me what you think

  • This actually reminded me of my favorite childhood book, The Little Match Girl. I'm not really sure why... but it did... I think that it was so sweet in a melancholy way... but all the same, very well written.
