Space-time

    “The distances between galaxies or clusters of galaxies are
    continuously increasing...therefore the universe is expanding”

I showed you planets
their orbits unchanging,
proving that February
and October have certain starry skies,
through my mathematics,
Venus, the Earth, and Mars
constantly dancing.

I knew they would to infinity.

Not even the gravity between two
heavenly bodies could break. These were
the time-tested hypotheses of attraction.
My astronomy knew
only fixed places
forever.

But lately I have seen
the nightstand moving
farther from the bed,
each night,
and you going with it.
