but the pen wouldn’t write.
I tried writing you a song
but the tune just wasn’t right.
There’s something missing
in this melody of mine.
A missing chorus; a verse
a missing rhyme to fit the line.
It’s missing the emotion
the touch of the soul.
The simple things in life
beyond our control.
It’s missing our senses
the ones we use to live.
It’s missing the connection
the simple take and give.
I want to be able to feel you;
feel the warmth of your being.
I want to be able to see you;
gaze into those coffee eyes.
I want to be able to breath you;
breath in your desires and dreams.
I want to be able to taste you;
your sweet kisses upon my lips.
I want to be able to hear you;
hear your voice echo in my heart.
I want to be able to sense you;
sense every beat of you heart.
I tried writing you a poem today
but my hand wouldn’t move.
I tried writing you a song
but the sound didn’t approve.
So with all I had
and all I could do.
I wrote down my wants
and the rest is up to you.
Author notes
I haven't been able to write in a while, but i really wanted to write my boyfriend a poem. The only problem is that him and i live 1688 miles away from each other. Long disance relationships can be quite hard for many people and they usually don't last. I don't want to think about that. . .all i'm thinking about is the here and the now. I do find it hard to write a poem to someone who i've never actually met so i came up with this.
Hope some people find that they can relate to it if they are going through the same thing...Loving someone a miles away.
Please tell me what you think

I can't exactly relate, as the one I love is right here with me, but over christmas break he was an ocean away and it was hard...not being able to see him or to hold him, *shakes head* but things got better, as im sure they will for you. In the meantime, this poem is quite beautiful and I believe you have suceeded in expressing what you could not write...

This is the sweetest read I've read today. It brings to mind, allthe things I thought of when I was 18. Yeah, did the long distance thing, awful. They're never there for you, and yet, you're taken, so you cant be with anyone else.
I wish the best for you. Hope it works out,
Peace,
Jin

Wow! This is beautiful, and I feel you! It's hell being away for even a few days, let alone for the length of time you must go without his company.
I absolutely adore::
I want to be able to breath you;
breath in your desires and dreams.
It's beautiful and... well, breathtaking.
Hope you get to see him soon!
