Black trumpets sound their blows,
Each word hitting me; melting my weak, chocolaty heart,
As my old dirty shoes rip at the toes, [as I run].
I wonder as I look at the moon,
I wish I could explore the world,
I've always liked it,
But now it's is filled with words of Poe. [Darkness.]
Late night, early morning.
I wish I could find any other survivors,
Whom wish to help me stop homophobia,
For I like it here and don't want to leave yet. [Hang on]
In the dessert words lay bare and dying,
Like my soul; hug over in the river out back.
Sketching and drawing at 2:00pm, seeking peace,
Somewhere in my heart, kicking me like some Soccer ball [pain].
That Jeff Gordon ball cap cover my eyes as I walk,
I love. Hard. But its still love, right? [Oh, and how I love her]
I feel hidden [protected] by my 24 speckled rim,
I wish... no... I need more courage...
[Can I make it through?]

Brilliant, the poem stands on its own. Great responses and thoughtful weaving of them into a statement about yourself. This is powerful, and I'm looking forward to identifying you after the contest so I can read more. Thanks for this entry.
