Ducks On The Pond-September 14, 2007

They sing a song
it sounds a bit
like this write:
"quack, quack, quack,
what a wonderful life."
The ducks on the pond
glide along,
the serene waters
speckled with bits of bread crumb.
Along with the food,
is the feeders reflection:
an old man
leaning over the pond
white crumbs in hand,
along with his grandson.
They feed the ducks
residing upon this pond
and hum together
a lovely song.
The old man's eyes glistening
and grey,
peer at the young boy now whistling
and he hasn't a thing to say.
All he desired is the view of this serene moment:
of the Mallot Ducks on the pond,
and smile at this moment
for he knows that this will forever live on:
within both their hearts
and their minds,
and that they will smile for this moment
is one of the best of all times.
Not only for these two
sharing the sight,
but also for the ducks on the pond
whom sing:
"Quack, quack, quack, what a good life."
