Minutes and moments of you
I sewed in my heart with lace.
I held you tight against my flesh,
until you left an imprint on my soul.
And here we are now forsaken
amidst our scarlet autumn
with leaves bathing in my blood
as you tear away from me.
Pain blossoms with full force
scorching petals unfold
as your lips rips my spirit
leaving broken puppet parts.
Remnants of ruby kisses, once inducing flight
burn in me like thousands suns.
As your love now hurts
silence, thin crisp, upon frigid air.
Among pandemonium of fire and ice
ignited by a spark, when you lit a cigarette
and said that our time was up
as I sat there, porcelain shell, hiding a storm.
A drink of turpentine
to wither my colored flowers
our flame raged, prematurely detonated
and I'm Left unattached, with ash and cinders.
Change spreads its roots as fans
after cryogenic winter, but scars persist.
So, all in all, it proves to show
how treacherous and low, love can go.
Author notes
Love is cruel and dangerous and it leaves the human with no sense of logic, so the poem is chaotic and varies in style and rhythm.

Whew! This one really takes off the gloves!
Giving powerful perspective to those of us
left on the bleeding side of love. I found
the ending stanza especially dramatic with its
reference to scars, poison, and winter.
Excellent all around and will certainly offer
strong competition within this theme. Blue

Thanks a lot! I have never been in love, but hey I am bleeding inwardly from it. I love this one.
