My Senses

The sight of you assured me
It was finally you and me
In the flesh and through my eyes
I saw what love could be

Your touch was simply soothing
And I felt you in every part
I thought it to be endless
The feeling coursing through my heart

The taste of you consumed me
You fulfilled me at my core
I had an endless hunger
And only you could give me more

I took your smells for granted
It was so soon they went away
I could still smell you on my pillow
But it was only for a day

Your sound...is what I miss the most
Because you always said it best
And to never hear those words again
Hurts me more than all the rest


My senses, they took me over
Sight, touch, taste...smell and sound
