An ellipse of heart over mind
befalls in the dark of night
(where incommodious thoughts pervade).
Dawn's rays carry away barely grasped
Revelation; it returns on curved moon
to curving lash in unquiet eye-
revealed to the reluctant anima.
Thus, that which conscience stole
is captured by wicked heart
that grins at such a conquest.
Author notes
"The robbed that smiles steals something from the thief".
