Mathmatical Perception

I live in a world
That is constantly divided,
With the remainder split
Into fractional factions.
One nation INDIVISIBLE has
Been factored out of the equation.

Surrounded by people
Subtracting my substance,
I try to cancel them out
But they keep multiplying.
My square roots are rounded off
Trying to hold on to sanity.

Seeking a common denominator
That that may or may not exist,
I struggle to add it all up
Only to get another negative integer.
Maybe I misplaced my decimal point...
Can I borrow yours?

The final result leaves me feeling nothing
