Be my Valentine
I promise to love you with all I have to give
to cherish the time we spend in each others arms
the memories we share I’ll always relive
the laughter, the tears, your irresistible charms.
Your lips so kissable I can’t resist
the gentle touch of your loving embrace
the thoughtfulness you show I have so missed
the smile that lights the lovelight on your face.
My valentine, I want you, dear, to be
to share the joy of falling in love again;
to know this love was meant for you and me
and brighten all our days with sun and rain.
So Happy Valentine’s day to you
I’ll come to you before the night is through.

Sonnets, for me are so very hard to write. I commend you on this sweet Valentine's sentiment in the old-fashioned sonnet form. Although I dislike sappy poems, I found this quite charming, almost like a handwritten note!

So sweet and uncomplicated! Some people have all the luck!

very amazing!!!

Delightful
This is a beautiful sonnet, Jen! The language is gentle and hopeful, and shows what is lovable about your Valentine. I can imagine the guy's impression if this comes anonymously!!
Terrific work, best of luck!

Dear Jen,
A lovely poem for your Valentine...loving, romantic, and altogether fine! Ain't Love grand?

Dear Jenelda,,
Queen Edna thinks that you are just the best
as PERKCAO, it means she gets some rest.
She says: "Don't let that poem go to your head!
Just bring my breakfast tray to me in bed."
She's well aware how fond I've grown of you
and how much I love many others too.
She says she thinks it's absolutely fine
if someone wants me for their Valentine.
She understands (though many others don't)
with poets, romanticism is their wont.
She has no doubts about my love for her
and some for others generously will share.
As we were told by Christ, God's only Son,
the gift of Love is not confined to one.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem. It deserves a high place in the voting and I have bookmarked it.
Applause, love and hugs, XXX Hugh (R.)

Dear Jen, Ohhh very romantic. Have you got a bloke you're not telling me about? He sounds delicious, bring him round and introduce him to Uncle Bob and I.
It is very beautiful I must admit and any man would be happy to receive it.
Love AJ.

Dear AJ, Of course you know him, and I will bring him around one night.

I'm first to comment I guess, doesn't anyone read anything on AP anymore? Lazy bums.

You slip this in a jacket pocket...even the toughest guy will melt like butter.
