He lies alone beneath the stars
On the shifting desert sand
Whispering a soldier's heartfelt prayer
As he touches his wedding band
He can hear his Angel's gentle voice
On the hot dry desert wind
He closes his eyes to hold back the tears
And he asks the Lord again
"Watch over my little boy and girl
Sleeping half a world away
And give my wife the strength she needs
To guide her through the days
I know my mother worries Lord,"
He prays into the night
"Lord give her some assurance please
That I'll come home alright
And send them all the love I feel
Till I come home again
And hold them in your gentle care
In our saviours name, amen

I feel you...
I'm a Marine stranded all the way across the country from my girl, and while I can't begin to imagine what it must feel like to be overseas from your loved ones, I know what it feels like to be apart from those you love. I hope all your prayers are answered, and God Bless you and your son.
