I'm ten stories high contemplating
The arrival of a new day.
I'm watching the clouds dance
About the sun in fifty different ways.
& as I sway with the sounds below,
I let the wind crush against my chest
& I take the plunge.
Instantly I regret letting go
Because now I have to rebuild the life
That I have broken in front of me.
The blood cools within me
And my eyes pierce into the crowd below.
There are thoughts I want to shout,
There are things I wish I could rationalize.
Yet I keep falling, and the hope
Continues to slim as I hold back the breath
That knocks me into the ground below.
