If only these subtle sayings sank deeper
Into the atmosphere, and into your mind;
So that our thoughts could join as one,
So that we could have a fighting chance
Against this inbred stupidity
We seem to never leave behind.
Our dormant bodies laying beneath the mute sky
Only as people, nothing like heroes;
Nothing like the stories made us out to be.
Cower, now, behind your hollow friends,
Your glass machinery controlled by the same society
That wants you buried to your neck in disbelief.
The same fucking faces that make you think
That you'll never be better, you'll always be beneath.
If I could wipe that image out of your eyes
I would make sure you'd see the real me,
The real world that we are forced to survive in.
So, prove yourself to me and I will make it so.
I will make sure you see what love is
As I spread faith across the twilight and make hope yours.
We are but stars in the heavenly masterpiece
That we scurry beneath without a word of awe.
Shine on, you tiny profit,
You beautiful portrait of what life was meant to be.
Show us all it's not always what you think
When you're looking out from the bottom of the void.
