As night time falls
he starts to fuss
nothing I do calms him this night
so I start to sing lullabies
I run out of songs to sing
so my mind starts to whirl
and the words come to me
I start to sing him to sleep
with a soft melody made by me
"Sleep my baby,
don't you cry,
take that ride on lullabies,
as you sleep and dream my dear,
mommy will always....always be here"
the words start to sooth
when nothing else helped
he starts to drift off to sleep
and gently cuddles his teddy bear.

Darling image! I can picture this so well - I did it with my sons, too. Those 'home-made lullabies' really seemed to sooth them (I know, for me, it wasn't my voice!..LOL).
Thanks for the memories this brought back!
best wishes

this is so sweet. I can hear the tune "hush little baby don't you cry" can't remember the name...something about a diamond ring; if that diamond ring don't shine...anyway it sounds similar. Thank you for the entry.
