Melancholy knocks on my door once more
Yet this day I shall tell it to go away
For I know this time it is you in the doorway
And scarcity of love shall no longer betray
Me nor the portrait of myself
Letting go of what has never been
Living image of what they have always seen
I reach for you with my hand
My dream
It would be a lie to say winter held no grip on me
That dark places do not forbid me to see
And what I would do if there was no way back
Your love I shall never lack

You have expressed your thoughts and feelings in a clear way here.
And used some poetic devices in your advance too actually
The rhyme sounded a little bit forced here and there, but that's not really a big issue.
Thank you for entering the contest, I wish you the best of luck!
