In innocence I view my world
such wonders all around
I sit here while you take this snap
and hope that you'll be kind.
My mother tells me I belong
to a world where I need to take care
but all I see around me
are so many curious things.
I will soon begin exploring
and I hope you'll be my friend
give me pats and love me
living together peacefully.
My mother's words ring through my ears
so I'll watch to see what happens
I know that I belong here
and would never do you harm.
I love the sights, the sounds, the smells
for they are all around
I really can't wait to investigate
climbing high into those trees.
I'll look upon the world below
and watch everything you do
please treat me with some dignity
as I belong here too.
