My purpose lies beyond that final bend
where gates to heaven’s mansion stand ajar
and the path of life suddenly transcends
where angels take the stock of who you are;
Reflecting on my garden fully stocked
with blossom that enriched my flower bed
abundant plants I’ve sewn and primed and docked
purveyors of fine fragrances I’ve spread;
Walking forth toward death’s lambent pasture
a glowing warmth extends a welcome sign
for all good seed I’ve scattered will insure
a place in God’s own garden will be mine;
As I pass through angelic voices sing
the song of Eden’s everlasting Spring.
