do not turn pitiful eyes
to children hungry
and deprived
and then pass them
turning blind
pity yourself
poor soul
for you are dying
thinking
you are alive
starved by your greedy needs

Here is a subject that has often been mentioned about the western mind in regard to the deprived. It is true that many are consumed by greed in the western civilized world and many are destroyed by greed too. Thank you for sharing your poetry Myra. I always appreciate the touch you bring to a contest.
