Truth or Dare (ch. 12: Out cold)

The world was spinning beneath me, and I couldn’t really see.  All that I could see were bright purple flashes, moving green swirls, and blue and yellow dots flying up in random spots.  Nothing was making any sense.  My life was swirling quickly out of my control.  I felt like I was on a spinning ride, and I was getting motion sickness.
There was a weird music playing, like a humming within my mind.  A song almost like elevator music.  It was classical, almost mourning in its own minor-key way.  Where was it playing from?  Who was playing it?  Why wouldn’t they shut it off?  It was like the anthem of my life, of what seemed like my dying day.  It was lyrical but moving fast at a tempo no sad song should take.  It was giving me a headache.
It’s just that; my life’s moving too fast.  Four days ago, I was just the normal reject junior attending a high school where people thought I was a freak.  Then I had that dream and everything changed.  In just four days I went from reject to having a boyfriend with a twin brother that was working with my step sister to break us up.  How did this happen to me?  Was my dream a symbol of that?  If so, why didn’t it show any of this actually happening?  My world was moving to fast, and I couldn’t seem to keep up.
The world seemed to be slipping out of my grasp.  It felt like I was falling, and no matter how hard I was trying, I couldn’t seem to find anything to hold onto as I slipped through the air.  I was really falling, and I had absolutely nothing there that would hold me up.  There was no one who could save me.
I was falling smoothly through the air for what seemed like an eternity.  Around me I saw people.  Natalya was waving at me happily, Daniel by her side with a smile on his face.  My other friends were laughing at one of our inside jokes.  Lauren was laughing an evil laugh, almost like a witch, and she had horns like the devil.  Her eyes were red and she had claws holding a record player.  Then there was Craig who was watching me with wanting eyes, reaching out towards me as if to take me physically, or steal my little remaining sanity.  My mom was there in Cameron’s arms crying as she watched me.  Cameron had a frown as he held my mom close.  My dad and Sarah were shaking their fingers at me with disappointment, but I couldn’t hear what they were saying.  All I could hear was the same song repeating over and over.  And then Jayden was the last person I saw.  He looked literally angelic, with a halo and everything.  His skin glowed and he gave me a sexy grin that made me weak, even when I felt like I was dying.  Then they all disappeared in a cloud of smoke, and there were flames and rain.
I fell through the fire, but didn’t feel the flames burning.  They were cold, almost icy.  I began to shiver uncontrollably.  The rain stung as it hit my skin, and I couldn’t catch my breath.  My lungs felt like they were shrinking, getting smaller and smaller until they’d eventually shrivel up and be gone.  Where was the ground?  When would this end?  What was happening to me?
Then my body jerked as I suddenly hit the cold tile ground, and my eyes fluttered open.  The light was blinding, and I immediate shut them again.
