We live in a haunted place
An empty place
An abandoned place
The screams and the moans keep us up at night
The movement by unseen forces no longer surprises us
The house creaks and shudders
But it does not fall
The ghosts will not let it fall
And they will not let us leave
Their faces float in our dreams
If you actually see them they look like us
But only if you really see them
Not if you just look
That’s when they look like a chair or wall
Or a shadow
Just passing through
