(005) Red Ribbon

shards of glass inspire

                                panic

caught between up and down

floating, but wishing for flight

this is how I remember you

petals look like wine

                    eager to taste

drunk from licked lips

pouring into a fragile glass

needing to be touched gently

this is how I felt you

white dress turned burgundy

                            like bricks below

cracked, shattered, and spilled

like the dropped wine glass

this is how I found you

all tied up with a pretty red ribbon

                                              a present

with a big bow on top

you were a gift to me

but now you’re just a broken toy

this is how I killed you

Picture Prompt: Last Words by ~Mandioca on deviantart.com

I guess this could go two ways... Guilty over a suicide or murder. What do you think?

This really could go both ways, and it adds a lot of depth to this piece. Great imagery that took me right at that spot, seeing everything happen like in slow motion... That's how I saw it for some reason; slow motion.

This is a great piece of work! I love the wording and how you took it to the very end to see what would happen in this dark tale. Such depth can only be found in a number of poems here and I love how much you were able to pour in this one. Wonderful work with this one!
