Sanity it's plain to see
I write to keep me ...me!
Writing sets me free.
The minutes I take out of my day.
A time for forgetting the world around.
My mind lingers and shows me the way.
A time when my mind can come unbound.
I like to rhyme it's plain to see.
Sometimes prompts help me along.
But the poetry I write it to pacify me.
Writing makes my mind stay strong.

I like this. Poetry is a way for you to relax, to take that "me" time we all need. The only critism I have, is the line, "sometimes a prompt I like to have." It's not a bad line, but it interrupts your rhyme scheme, and doesn't seem to fit. Maybe you could add another line at the end to keep the abab rhyme scheme? Let me know if you want to edit!
